Does VegFund require that the group or person applying be vegan?

Yes.

How many Merit Awards does VegFund grant per month?

VegFund does not have a set quota. It varies based on the number of quality applications that we receive.

I know of someone who is deserving. May I apply on behalf of that person?

No. Please refer the person to VegFund's Merit Award program so they can submit an application for their project or program.

Do you provide funding to farm animal sanctuaries?

Although VegFund is unable to provide funding for general operating expenses, we encourage sanctuaries to apply for funding to support their humane education/vegan outreach programs.

Are non-US or Canadian residents eligible for Merit Awards?

Yes, VegFund works with activists worldwide.

My project or event will reach many non-English speakers, so I'm looking for a comprehensive list of international veg resources. Any suggestions?

If I receive a Merit Award, should I report back to VegFund on the results of my project?

Yes. You'll need to submit the online event recap form. If your application is approved, detailed instructions will be provided.

Is there a limit on the number of Merit Awards I may apply for in one year?

No. If you have an extremely successful project with proven results, you can apply several times for the funding you need.
